Mulch Mayhem

May 6, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Compost

Water providers around the Sacramento region, will be giving away free mulch to help homeowners get their yards ready for summer on May 6th  at various locations within the region. Locations to be announced soon.

Mulch provides many different benefits to your plants and trees.

  • It helps slow evaporation, allowing water to sink into the soil
  • Moderates soil temperature to keep roots nice and cool
  • Adds nutrients to the soil as it breaks down
  • Helps control the growth of weeds

So, come out and get your free mulch. And then spread a lay four to six inches deep, making sure to keep it four inches away from the trunk of your trees.

▶ Bring your own shovels, containers, tarp to cover and a method to haul away the mulch
▶ For personal use only; not for resale or commercial use
▶ First-come, first-served until supplies are gone
