AWE/EPA WaterSense Outdoor Water Webinar – Your Better Yard on Tue, Jun 30, 2020 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This webinar is cosponsored by WaterSense and the Alliance for Water Efficiency. Speakers will discuss plant choices, soil amendments, and irrigation tips for a healthy landscape. Moulton Niguel Water District’s educational programs encourage residents to swap out existing plants for California native varieties to collectively conserve water. They will discuss their Naturescape turf removal program and tips for employing natural soil amendments to optimize plant health. RainMaster provides irrigation and lawn care services to thousands of homeowners in Eau Claire, WI and Minneapolis, MN. Through irrigation programs designed around water conservation and lawn programs focused on lawn health, RainMaster helps ensure lasting plant health for customers. Lastly, Rachio will discuss Rachio Thrive yard care treatments and how the controller supports native plants by providing real plant nutrition and the right amount of watering.

Online Water Education Program Goes Live on DWR YouTube Channel
Join us for Water Wednesdays at 1 p.m. on DWR’s YouTube channel. These family-friendly programs are designed for kids 10-14 but are appropriate for anyone who would like to learn more about California’s water resources. The first five programs will be about Delta wildlife including fish, plankton, birds, reptiles, and invasive species. Interested participants can pre-register through Zoom which will allow posting of questions to that week’s speaker.
