Basics of Backyard Composting Workshop

March 23, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$10

It is easy and fun to recycle your fruit and vegetable scraps, leaves, and plant cuttings into compost! Compost adds to your garden soil, helps retain moisture which saves water, suppresses weeds, prevents soil erosion, and loosens clay and compacted soils.

$10 per person.  Class fee includes resource materials and facility use.

What you’ll get:

  • hands-on demonstration on how to build an active compost pile–yes, you are going to build it!
  • You will learn about the different methods for composting and find out if “Hot” composting is the right choice for you

Class participants will receive a free compost bin.
