Greenprint Summit

January 29, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

$75

GPSinvite2015-smJoin us on Thursday, January 29, 2015 to hear inspiring research and case studies addressing the many benefits of trees in our region.

The fifth annual summit will feature inspiring speakers from around the nation showcasing research and projects that prove the many benefits of trees as well as case

studies demonstrating successful community-led urban forest projects.

Region-wide, our neighborhoods’ lack of tree canopy adversely affects the health and well-being of our residents.  The Sacramento Tree Foundation’s regional initiative, called Greenprint, establishes partnerships with local governments, businesses, and community and neighborhood groups to organize local tree planting and care programs and to educate the public about the air quality and other health benefits of a healthy urban forest.

The annual Greenprint Summit brings information, connections, and inspiration to local leaders to encourage beneficial urban forest projects.

Case studies of local successful urban forestry projects will address:

  • Working with owners of rental properties to green their properties and bring the benefits of trees to their residents.
  • Programs to encourage residential planting of fruit trees
  • Building partnerships to create a new residential shade tree program
  • Adding tree canopy to pockets of open space within cities
