Project WET Workshop ‘Water & Energy Resources’
January 21, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Sacramento Municipal Utilities District invites K-12 educators to register for an interdisciplinary experience in activities that will engage students in learning about local water resources and the connection to energy production, community water needs and water conservation, while learning about concepts and skills at the heart of Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
The interdisciplinary Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) activities are an effective tool for integrating student knowledge of water resources with activities that include real life scenarios that provide strong foundations for STEAM and Service-Learning programs. Project WET activities are designed to support and expand on existing curriculum, including the use of EEI (Education & the Environment Initiative) curriculum units.
This is STEM learning at its best! You must be a teacher, student teacher, afterschool provider, outreach educator (boy or girl scouts as an example) to register. Please contact Suzette Bienvenue for more details at suzette.bienvenue@smud.org if you have any questions and feel free to pass on this invitation to join us for a day of WET fun.
Each participant will receive: Hands-on experience with great water conservation activities and California specific content, a copy of the Project WET Guide 2.0 which includes free access to 40 additional Project WET activities and an opportunity to receive CEU credits. Breakfast and lunch are also included!
