October 20, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
$425The FQT Course presents ReScape 8 Principles, technical details, and firescaping compliance with local and state ordinances and regulations. A ReScape 8 Principles approach to firescaping protects properties and landscapes and considers the best practices to mitigate climate change and create beauty with carbon landscaping, green infrastructure, waste plant debris prevention and decrease in landfill costs, regenerative landscape features, water capture and purity, embodied energy reduction and cost and maintenance savings. The firescaping course will educate, align and empower cities, municipalities and public agencies, commercial and institutional property owners and landscapers. The overarching goal is to support them to work collaboratively across departments, agencies, and organizations to implement whole-systems firescaping strategies to protect citizens, assets and future welfare.
Demands on cities during and after a wildfire for vital services combined with decreased revenue from tourism, manufacturing, retail services, and a drop in property values can be devastating to their communities. Cities need support to prevent wildfire damage by managing their many landscapes, advocating for certain maintenance on others, and supporting residential or commercial property owners to maintain their properties. This Training will help you to support your city to protect their citizens, assets and future welfare.
