River-Friendly Landscaping Green Gardener at Home Class Series

$65There is no way around it — our gardens are impacted by extreme and fluctuating weather conditions. However, they can be resilient! In this eight-week class series, you will learn how to strengthen your garden’s ability to combat climate-change while maintaining that curb appeal. Classes will be taught by practicing landscape professionals and educators who utilize environmentally-friendly practices. You’ll learn how to help your trees and plants thrive and your garden stay beautiful, all while easily maintaining it. Whether large or small, starting a new garden, or making changes to your existing one, you’ll be equipped with the know-how to apply these practices to your garden.
Class topics include:
- Irrigating your garden efficiently
- Improving your soil’s health
- Designing new and updating existing gardens
- Using California native plants and gardening with edibles
- Gaining the most out of rainwater
- Composting and mulching
- Fertilizing for optimum lawn and plant health
- Managing those pesky pests
- Reducing runoff and pollution into our waterways
- Pruning less and decreasing air pollution
Classes are virtual via Zoom on Tuesdays, from February 8 to March 9, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. After registration, a link will be provided to access class materials.
Two bonus (optional) dates for dedicated Q&A sessions with the instructors via Zoom on Thursdays, March 3 & 31, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
