City of Sacramento Utilities staff are hosting an in-person event on July 23 called the “Water Conservation Showcase” that will feature landscape designers, manufacturers, community organizations, and resources from the City.

Staff hope the event will help people learn about ways they can reduce their water use inside and outside of the home and save money in the process.

“This event will give people lots of great information on things like grass conversions and water-efficient fixtures,” said William Granger, a water conservation coordinator with the City. “People will also be able to tour our drought-tolerant garden when they visit.”

The free event is scheduled to take place at the City’s Department of Utilities headquarters (1395 35th Ave.) from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and will include these organizations:

• SMUD
• Save Our Water
• California Native Plant Society
• City of Sacramento water conservation staff
• Association of Professional Landscape Designers
• Hunter Irrigation Sprinkler Systems
• Water Wise Landscapes
