What’s the Most Efficient Way to Water? By the Drip
If you’re looking for a better way to water plants and vegetables, then consider the advantages of drip irrigation. The concept is simple: Deliver water through small holes called emitters rather than inundating entire areas with sprinklers. The result: Water delivered slowly and deeply directly to a plant’s root zone and less wasted water from runoff and evaporation.
Drip irrigation uses a system of tubing, pipes, values and emitters to deliver water at a slow trickle at the base of a plant. Most systems are pretty easy to install but, like all systems, requires ongoing check-ups and maintenance.
